about

The Inevitable End by Danish artist MALMØ is released on 11th June 2021 via Integrity Records/Songcrafter Music on clear 12” vinyl and all digital platforms. With a playing time of 25 minutes blurring the line between EP & mini-album, the release is a prediction in 5 parts – each one representing a different way of the world collapsing if we don´t change our behaviour. But this is not an album of doom. It is vibrating with life – in soaring vocals, ominous beats, beautiful harmonies, haunting codas. It is artistically and musically a work that moves - a strong and hopeful call to action.

MALMØ features the unique voice and song-writing of Maria Malmoe. Earlier releases and immersive live performances across Europe have seen her likened to Agnes Obel, Eivør and Björk. With thought-provoking videos for all 5 predictions, The Inevitable End will manifest itself as an installation work, with each song expressed as a work of art, exhibited in the major Danish cities of Aarhus, Herning & Copenhagen through autumn 2021 / spring 2022.

Adding her support to those who fear for our planet, Maria’s take is highly personal:

“From my window I can see the farmer poisoning the field; I’ve heard the precious ice creaking in retreat in Greenland; and a recent miscarriage left me fearing the toxins I’d previously consumed without knowing. In these 5 songs, these predictions, I explore what it is that threatens humanity - from the outside and from within – to encourage awareness and hope for future generations.”

The Inevitable End follows 2018’s critically acclaimed debut album We Come From The Stars, with spot plays on BBC 6 Music, BBC London, BBC Ulster, Amazing Radio, Shoreditch Radio, US radio including Seattle’s super-cool KEXP, Danish national radio & Spotify editorial support across the Nordics and Asia.
